TITLE: Installation Gotchas: Oracle9i R2 on Linux

The participant will learn how to install Oracle9i under the Red Hat Linux kernel.

ABSTRACT (A brief description of your presentation. Please do not exceed 200 words.)

Oracle9i R2 cannot be installed on a default Red Hat Linux kernel. Here are the changes that must be performed to allow an Oracle9i R2 installtion to complete successfully. This paper will tell not only how to successfully install Oracle 9i on Red Hat Linux but will also expalin what to expect from the operating system while using Oracle on your machine. Efficiencies of Red Hat combined with Oracle 9i will be discussed.

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY (Not to exceed 3 sentences)

John has been working on Oracle for the last three years as the only DBA at abc_xyz.com, an innovative broadband internet ecommerce startup wonder. He graduated from high school earlier this year. This will be the first time he’s given a presentation in a public setting.
